Wednesday Forum

Wednesday, March 5, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in Knatvold and via Zoom

Claudia Keene will lead our discussion of the Great Decisions 2025 topic U.S. Changing Leadership of the World Economy. For most of the postwar era, the U.S. has tied its global leadership to cooperative agendas aimed at creating a more open-world trading system, but that approach has apparently come to an end. This session will review past policies and changes undertaken by the Biden and current Trump Administrations, and question how these new economic approaches relate to overall U.S. foreign policy.

Future Great Decisions sessions:

3/19    U.S.-China Relations

4/2      India: Between China, the West, and the Global South

4/16    International Cooperation on Climate Change

5/7     The Future of NATO and European Security

5/21    AI and American National Security

6/4     American Policy in the Middle East

Great Decisions 2025 booklets with essays by experts on each topic are available from the Foreign Policy Association at this FPA link.

All are welcome to join the Wednesday Forum, which meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Knatvold room. If you are not already on the Forum list and would like to be, to receive the Zoom link and regular notices, please contact the church office at office@uuchurch.org or (206) 525-8400.
