Wednesday Forum: Great Decisions

Wednesday, April 2, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in Knatvold and via Zoom

India: Between China, the West, and the Global South

On April 2, Jeanette Merki will lead our discussion of India, an emerging major power in world affairs that occupies a pivotal position between China, the United States, and the Global South. Its population size, economy, and geopolitical location ensure that it will be an influential voice in debates and political struggles over global order. India has the world's second-largest active-duty military force, and fifth-largest economy in gross domestic product. The Great Decisions materials analyze India's history before and after the Cold War, and consider its future relationships with the United States, China, and emerging powers in the Global South.

Future Great Decisions sessions:

4/16    International Cooperation on Climate Change

5/7     The Future of NATO and European Security

5/21    AI and American National Security

6/4     American Policy in the Middle East

Great Decisions booklets with essays by experts on each topic are available from the Foreign Policy Association at this FPA link.

All are welcome to join the Wednesday Forum, which meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Knatvold room. If you are not already on the Forum list and would like to be, to receive the Zoom link and regular notices, please contact the church office at office@uuchurch.org or (206) 525-8400.
