Support Gathering for Those Who Rely on Federal Funding

Sunday, February 2 and/or February 16, 1–2:30 p.m. in the Channing room

In the last two weeks a rapid-fire set of executive orders and changing federal policies have directly affected UUC members who are employed by the federal government or work in state or local governments, clinics, research institutions, education, social services, non-profits, and other organizations and roles that are supported through federal funds. The impact of these orders and policies, rescinded or not, on our lives, the lives of people and communities we love, our sense of meaning and purpose, and our ability to continue to live into our values through our work lives will most likely continue to be profound.

During the Covid-19 pandemic UUC offered space for members who worked in healthcare to gather in community with others navigating similar paths. Similarly, as the first 100+ days of executive orders and federal policy changes continue to unfold UUC will be providing a similar space for people who work in organizations and roles that are federally funded.

If you work in one of these settings/roles and gathering in community with others navigating similar paths would be of support to you, please join us in the Channing room after the second service on February 2 and/or February 16.

If neither of these options work for you but you would like to be involved in future gatherings if the group decides to continue meeting, please reach out to Becca Hutcheson at hutchbec@gmail.com.
