Is Senior Cohousing Right for You?

Sunday, February 16, 2–3:30 p.m. in Knatvold

Come join us as Sandy Wood presents cohousing as an option for older adults and provides information about current efforts to establish a small senior cohousing community in the North Seattle area. Bring your curiosity and your questions.

Many of us are facing decisions about how and where we’d like to live as we grow older. If staying in your home is becoming daunting, moving in with adult children not practical and living in a “senior retirement facility” not appealing, come explore another option: cohousing. Imagine a small group of peers who design and create their own community of homes and common amenities where they mutually support each other and enhance each other’s lives as they age. This is cohousing.

Sandy Wood is a senior who wishes to live in a cohousing community of peers as she grows older. She has had careers in psychology, community development and affordable housing. Most of her adult life, she has enjoyed a variety of shared-housing experiences.

This meeting is presented by the UUC Men's Group and Wise Women Connecting and open to all.
