Climate Action Team Meeting

Sunday, April 13, 12:30–2:00 p.m. in the King Room and via Zoom

Please join us, either in person or online, for the Climate Action Team meeting this Sunday. All are invited to attend.

Current members would like to hear from you on what sorts of actions/events would be engaging to you. Please join us Sunday and/or let us know by emailing Jane Howard.

To borrow from Ayana Elizabeth Johnson's 2024 book, What If We Get It Right?, she recommends asking yourself three questions to guide climate action:

  1. What brings you joy? What brings you satisfaction and delight?
  2. What are you good at? What are your skills, resources, and networks?
  3. What work needs doing? What are climate and justice solutions?

What climate action does all three? As an individual? As a community at UUC?

If you are unable to join us in person, find the Zoom link in UUC Connect: “ Zoom Links for UUC Gatherings ” (requires login). If you need help accessing UUC Connect, our password-protected resource for UUC members and friends, please contact the Church Office.

UUC established its Climate Action Team in the spring of 2014 in the spirit of the seventh UU principle, “respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” The team’s mission is to seek reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. In the spirit of the second UU principle, “justice, equity and compassion in human relations,” the team will advocate policies to begin to redress injustices already set in motion by past and present emissions.
