Social Justice Jams are monthly gatherings open to anyone interested in Social Justice and Faith in Action at UUC. Join us this month as we hold a “Deep Dive” conversation with Cecelia Hayes, Equity Educator, Leader, and Seattle UU. Our program will featuring excerpts from Jeffery Robinson’s critically acclaimed feature length documentary “Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America,” followed by conversation, movement, and SINGING!


Cecelia Hayes’ more than 29 years of professional experiences run the gamut of organizing, curriculum development, teacher mentoring and executive coaching for equity with a variety of organizations in Seattle and Chicago. She was on the teaching faculty in Sociology at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago for nine years, focusing on critical race theory, gender studies, queer theory, and media studies, and was the 2013 Phyllis Mayo Fellow for Leadership Tomorrow, a national civic engagement institute. She is currently the senior practitioner for equity, social justice and engagement in Executive Services at King County, WA.
