Help Tent City 4 Move

Saturday, May 18, starting at 9 a.m.

Tent City 4 is moving in at the Seattle Mennonite Church this Saturday, just a few miles north of UUC in the Lake City neighborhood. Here are ways you can help out:

Add to a breakfast and snack supply for the long day of move-in activities. You can deliver your items directly to the camp at the Mennonite Church on Saturday morning between 9–11 a.m. Or you can drop your items off at the UUC parking lot at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and someone else will drive them over.

  • Bake muffins or cookies
  • Buy bananas or oranges
  • Purchase beverages, snack bars or tubs of cream cheese (Einstein Bros. Bagels is donating bagels.)

Get your work clothes on and join the move-in.

  • Join others from UUC for an hour—or several—whatever your schedule allows. The move-in begins at 9 a.m. and will continue through the day, likely until late afternoon.
  • It is a good idea to bring work gloves if you have them, and to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.
  • Some of the move tasks involve heavy lifting, but lighter work is also available.
  • You do not need to sign up to assist. Just stop by and lend a hand. Many hands make light work!

New home of Tent City 4, for the next year, from May 18, 2024 to May 16, 2025:

Thanks in advance for your generosity of time and snacks.
