On November 1, Seattle City Councilmember Alex Pedersen, whose term representing Northeast District 4 runs through this year, will speak on affordable housing and homelessness. Prior to his election, he worked on community development and affordable housing issues for some time.

The Foreign Policy Association has announced the topics for Great Decisions 2024. Booklets usually become available toward the end of the year, and we receive them in time to start the sessions in early February. Here is an early-bird look at the topics: Mideast realignment, climate technology and competition, science across borders, U.S.-China trade rivalry, NATO's future, understanding Indonesia, High Seas Treaty, and pandemic preparedness.
