Social Justice Jams

Monthly on the first Wednesday, starting October 4

What: A monthly gathering of UUC members and friends to connect about Social Justice and Faith in Action

Why: To strengthen our social justice community. To create a regular space for people to build relationships, skill up, and imagine new possibilities. To offer space for reflection and renewal.

Who: Anyone! Youth and adults. Are you an existing social justice team with tasks to do, stuff to discuss, people to recruit? Have you been wanting to get involved, or do you have an idea for something new our congregation could be doing? Are you doing good work in the world but feeling weary or in need of renewal? The Jams are for you! The more people, the better it’ll be.

When: One evening a month, on the first Wednesday. Optional meal/fellowship starting at 6:15, get down to justice business at 7:00, clean up at 8:45.

  • October 4
  • November 1
  • (No gathering in Dec)
  • January 3
  • February 7
  • March 6
  • April 3
  • May 1

Where: Nathan Johnson Hall at UUC

How it works: A simple meal (e.g. soup and bread) will be provided, and participants are invited to bring some fruit, salad, desserts, beverages. Everyone meets together for a while for some learning, reflection, or sharing. Then we’ll split up into groups based on tasks, interests and energy. We’ll always offer info for newcomers, and space for those just seeking connection and reflection with others.

Are volunteers needed to help out? Yes! Contact Rev. Beth Chronister if you would like to help out!
