September snuck up on many of the members of our group and An Immense World is such a phenomenal book that we decided to extend it for two more sessions: September 26 and October 10.
You are welcome to attend even if you have not read the book, but we do ask that you watch/listen to a video or read a bit about it so that you are somewhat familiar. This is an excellent video to watch or listen to: An Immense World: In Conversation with Ed Yong about All that Lies Beyond our Human Sensory Bubble. There are many other videos and interviews as well.
That said, the book is phenomenal and well worth reading! The waitlist is long at the libraries but the paperback version just came out. The Kindle version is even cheaper and makes it much easier to read all the footnotes.
Join the Science Book Group in UUC Connect to automatically receive information about future meetings.
Zoom links for UUC gatherings are password-protected for security, and are not posted in public locations. See this post in UUC Connect or email the church office for assistance in accessing Zoom meetings at UUC.
Also, it's that time again—please follow the link below to suggest books for the Science Book Group (SBG) to read.
How this works: the link opens a form. Please fill out, as completely as possible, one form for each book you are suggesting. (Suggest as many as you'd like.) Note that you can come back and edit your submissions. Therefore, you can fill out the first four mandatory questions and come back later to provide a good review or other additional info.
Let's try to get all the submissions in by midnight
Sunday, October 1.
Once we have all the suggestions I will set up a poll so we can vote on them. I will also send out a list with info on all the books so if people wish they can read up on the options.
Thanks for contributing to the list! UUC SBG Book Suggestions Form
