Continuing Support for Migrants at Riverton Park Church

Still time to contribute to our Second Sunday Plate or drop off your donations

There are now more than 350 asylum seekers at Riverton Park Church in Tukwila, including over 100 children and pregnant women. Thanks to all who generously contributed to last Sunday's Plate Collection to benefit the migrant families staying there.

Contribute toward this special collection through Monday, November 27. To donate online, click here, choose "Special Plate" and type "November Plate" in the memo line. Or you can mail a check or drop one off in the office, noting "November Special Plate" on the memo line. (Find the church address and office hours at the bottom of our home page.)

Drop off donated items through Thursday, November 30. Purchase items from their list of priority needs—shoes for children, women and men in all sizes; large tarps (at least 12' x 12') to keep their tents dry; tents; sleeping bags and sleeping pads; warm hats and gloves; paper plates and paper cups; full-size shampoo; deodorant; pant hangers; underwear and warm socks in all sizes. Drop donations in the box in the lower-level atrium, outside the UUC office:

  • Before or after attending the Sunday worship service on November 19 or 26
  • During office hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.)
  • If you are at UUC for any evening or weekend meeting or event through November 30, you can bring your donations then too.
