UUC 2023 Annual Congregational Meeting

Sunday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m. in person or through simultaneous Zoom meeting (members in good standing); or live stream (all others)

Please plan to attend the 2023 Annual Congregational Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 11 following the shortened service (which will start at 10 a.m.) All members in good standing* are eligible to vote on motions to elect trustees and to approve the annual operating budget. Meeting materials are available here.

The proposed agenda is as follows:

  1. Welcome
  2. Approval of Agenda and Approval of Minutes from November 13, 2022, Special Congregational Meeting
  3. Remembrance of Those We Have Lost
  4. Reflections from Reverend Jon Luopa and Board President Kathleen Cromp
  5. Election of New Board Members
  6. Motion and Congregational Vote to Approve 2023–2024 Fiscal Year Operating Budget

This meeting is an important touchpoint for the congregation to make two key decisions. We hope you will take the time to participate.

There are three ways to participate in the Annual Meeting:

  • All members in good standing who chose to participate in person at the church will check in at the check-in desk to receive a voting card.
  • Members in good standing who wish to attend via Zoom will need to pre-register using this form. After registering, they will receive the meeting number and passcode from the office. Note that in the Zoom meeting, one connection = one vote. In a household with two church members who will only use one Zoom connection on one device (representing one vote), one of those members must submit an absentee ballot prior to the meeting to have their vote counted.
  • Members in good standing who will not participate on June 11 in any way but wish to vote absentee can submit an absentee ballot, available online and in the church office. Completed paper absentee ballots must be postmarked by Wednesday, June 7, to be received in time for counting prior to this special meeting.

The meeting will be livestreamed simultaneously on June 11 at 10:30 a.m. Check the church website homepage for information on viewing the live stream. Individuals who observe the meeting on live stream will not be able to participate in any discussion or voting in the meeting, regardless of their membership status.

* According to the bylaws, a "member in good standing" shall have (i) completed a prescribed orientation program; (ii) made at least one unrestricted contribution of record during the past twelve (12) months; and (iii) signed the membership roll. If you are interested in attending and voting and are confused about whether you are a “member in good standing,” please contact Byron Krystad at byron.krystad@uuchurch.org or 206-454-7723 prior to the meeting date.
