UUC members and friends, please DO check in at the entry kiosks when you arrive at UUC for Sunday services, and for meetings and events throughout the week.
This continues to be very important in helping us better understand who is active in what, when. And that helps the church in myriad ways. We can see which groups are flourishing and may need more space or resources. We can see which groups are struggling or have stopped meeting, and need follow-up, support, or maybe help in closing or re-structuring. And when someone asks, “How is (beloved congregant)? I haven’t seen them in a while,” we have one more way to quickly assess if they have been active or might need outreach.
Checking in also helps us to assess how active groups and individuals are on Zoom, and how attendance patterns are changing. Did you know you can check in through the UUC Connect mobile app, whether you’re attending virtually or on site? Group leaders can also check in members of their groups at the kiosk before the meeting ends, or later on their own device, using the mobile app or by logging into UUC Connect, finding the group and event, and selecting Attendance. Then tap “in person” or “virtual” to mark who is or was present.

If you aren’t finding your name, your group, or your event when and where you expect it, please contact the church office or your staff leader. It’s important for us to have your meeting times and places scheduled accurately in order to help all groups find rooms and Zooms.
Introducing the check in kiosks and taking advantage of UUC Connect’s attendance feature has been SO helpful for the church in planning budgets and events, allocating staff time and meeting space, spotting trends in attendance, and caring for the congregation. It was invaluable during the height of the pandemic when we needed to be vigilant around the spread of COVID. And it brought us important information for the first time on the congregation’s interests, interactions, and where there are gaps and opportunities.
Thanks for helping us make things count!
