Counselor positions for are open to UUC youth entering grades 9–12 in the fall of 2023. This is a fun and collaborative way for youth to build leadership skills, gain work experience, lead worship for the camp and congregation, and deepen their connection to the UUC community. We seek responsible youth who enjoy working with kids, who enjoy being UU, and who are excited to create a vibrant multigenerational community at UUC.

Counselors are expected to assist with all camp activities and to work collaboratively with other counselors and staff to ensure that every camper is included. Counselors invited to participate in Chalice camp must meet all minimum qualifications, attend the training and pledge to fulfill all Chalice Camp counselor responsibilities. 

This year, UUC is offering one full week of camp, as well as a shorter, mini-Chalice Camp. Applicants should indicate in this form their preference. Youth Counselors are paid a stipend of $300 for the full week of camp and $250 for the mini-Camp. It is very unlikely anyone will get to be a counselor for both weeks of Chalice Camp.

Applications for Youth Counselor positions close on Sunday, April 30. Interviews will take place over the weeks of May 14 and May 21. Staffing decisions will be made in early June. Youth Counselors are required to participate in the Youth Counselor Trainings from 1:00–6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, (Mini-Camp) or Sunday, July 9, (full week of Chalice Camp).
