On April 16, Rex Hohlbein, founder of Facing Homelessness, will speak in the UUC chapel about being in relationship with and giving a voice to those experiencing homelessness. Each of us can take our own small and meaningful steps to end homelessness in our city. Rex encourages us to find ways to come a bit closer, and last summer, he shared his opinion on the homelessness crisis in Real Change.
Rex was UUC’s 2023 Fleagle lecturer and uses podcasts, photography and the nonprofit he founded, Facing Homelessness, to connect with and assist the unhoused. Rex stayed in Tent City 3 for a month as he was beginning the organization, Facing Homelessness. In anticipation of speaking at UUC in 2023, he returned to Tent City 3 for a couple of days, and released an episode on Tent City 3 on his podcast, You Know Me Now. You can check out his interviews with some participants of Tent City here.
