Help Tent City 3 Move

Saturday, September 7

Arrive any time after 9 a.m. and stay for however much time you have available

Tent City 3 (TC3) will end their stay at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral soon. On Saturday, September 7, TC3 will pull up stakes, and load up pallets and tents so they can move to University Congregational United Church of Christ. Both congregations have hosted TC3 numerous times over the years.

Once again, the TC3 community welcomes (and needs) help, loading up at St. Mark's, and then unloading and setting up at University Congregational Church. Your help at either end is much appreciated.

  • From 9 a.m. until about 12 noon – Join other volunteers from UUC at St. Mark's, in the south parking lot behind the cathedral.

  • From about 11 a.m. through the afternoon – Join volunteers at University Congregational Church. The camp will be set up in the parking lot at 15th Avenue NE and NE 45th Street, and there is plenty of parking for volunteers at a small lot across from the main church entrance on 16th Avenue NE.

Arrive any time and stay for however much time you have available. It is a good idea to bring work gloves, if you have them, and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. For those able, you can help with loading and unloading pallets and camp supplies. Some of the move tasks involve heavy lifting, but lighter work is also available. You do not need to sign up in advance to assist with the move. Stop by as you are able.

Want to help out with baked good or snacks? The move day is busy, so muffins, fruit and snacks are always welcomed and appreciated. They can be delivered to either St. Mark's, 9-10 a.m. or in the afternoon to University Congregational Church.

Since TC3 has to move everything, this is not a good time to bring any donations you might have. They do appreciate donations of supplies, but please wait until they get settled in at University Congregational Church to deliver those.
