Sunday, October 20

October 20 All Ages worship services at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. in Nathan Johnson Hall and via Zoom

Special Note:

As you might be aware, following the Youth Con on October 11-13, there was a suspected norovirus outbreak amongst participants. Fortunately, everyone seems to be recovering well and we haven’t heard about any transmission to anyone who attended church on Sunday, October 13.

Since then, staff have been hard at work sanitizing and preparing the space to be safe for people to be in. Unfortunately, we are not able to get the carpets at UUC steam cleaned until sometime next week, an important step in ensuring the sanitization of any carpeted room. While the likelihood of transmission at this point is very low, out of an abundance of caution, we will hold the October 20 worship services in Nathan Johnson Hall, instead of in the (carpeted) chapel.

This Sunday’s Service is an All Ages Worship exploring one of the 5 Jagged Rocks of Unitarian Universalism, “There is a unity that makes us one.” It will be a creative, story and music-centric service and, as such, lends itself well to this unusual format. A livestream of the service will be available via Zoom, though we are aware that the sound might be someone unpredictable. Due to space constraints and a lingering concern about sharing food at this time, we not be providing coffee and cookies as we usually do after Sunday Services.

We encourage all to gather on Sunday in the spirit of curiosity, prepared to meet any surprises with a sense of openness and flexibility. While this is an undeniable wrinkle in our plans for a meaningful morning together, Revs. Doug and Beth, and Aria, Director of Family Ministry, are embracing the moment with a sense of fun. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning!

Rev. Doug Wadkins, Rev. Beth Chronister and Aria Curtis, Director of Family Ministry, will lead the October 20 services. Music by the All Voices Choir; Cally Lindenmier, mezzo; and Dwight Beckmeyer, piano.

Order of Service
