Sermon: "Mind Your Mind – According to the 8th-century Buddhist monk Shantideva, "there is no greater bane than mind itself." He calls it an elephant, wandering where it will, bringing us down to torment. Today, we will explore how to tame the elephant of mind--and maybe even live with it peacefully!"

Sunny Joy McMillan, J.D., is a former attorney and current graduate student at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut who hails from Seattle, Washington. Sunny became the Ministerial Intern at the Unitarian Society of New Haven (a UU congregation) in September 2023, and she will remain with the congregation in the coming academic year as she continues the pursuit her Master of Divinity degree. She hopes to become an ordained UU minister following graduation in 2025. When she’s not studying deep in the stacks of the Divinity School library, you can find her walking her German Shepherd, Mojave, in New Haven’s East Rock Park.
