Shoreline UU Church is hosting the pUUget Sound Youth Con on Saturday, March 2, to Sunday, March 3, and UU are invited! Youth from throughout the Puget Sound are going to be attending. If you or your high school youth have been wondering how to get involved in UUC’s youth group and/or would like to link into the broader UU youth culture evolving in our region, this is the moment to show up! We would love to send five UUC youth to this event. Sign up today! Registration is open until Friday, February 16 at https://bit.ly/PSYC.
What is a Youth Con? Youth Cons are weekend-long gatherings of UU high school students from many churches in the area. During a Con, you’ll meet new people, play games, be silly, have good food, learn new things from each other in workshops, maybe participate in a talent (or no-talent) show, have a candlelit worship at night where you connect on a deeper level with your new friends, often stay up super late (though you don’t have to), and generally create a temporary “UUtopian” society!
So why did Cons stop? Simple: COVID. But now we’re ready to get them going again! Our first one will not be a whole weekend. Instead we’re starting with a single overnight that goes from 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, to 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 3. This will be happening at Shoreline UU Church, just north of Seattle. Youth from about ten churches will have full run of the church the entire time!
Everyone will be there … including YOU. At least we really hope you will; the more people that go, the more fun it will be! Follow this link for more information about the event and to register: https://bit.ly/PSYC
Registration is now open and closes on February 16. If you have any questions about this event, reach out to Chris Pollina at shorelinedre@gmail.com or (206) 240-5500 or Amanda Mack at amanda.mack@uuchurch.org or (907) 342-9008—text or calls both fine.
