In the Larger Community: Amplifying Refugee Voices to Inspire Action

Saturday and Sunday, February 3 and 4, by advance registration

Join our neighboring congregation, Beth Shalom, in supporting the global Jewish movement for refugee protection and welcome. As borders turn away asylum seekers and climate change worsens existing challenges, it's crucial to reaffirm our commitment to refugees and take a moment to reflect and celebrate our progress. A number of local Jewish communities are coming together for this year's HIAS Shabbat weekend on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4. It is free and open to the community, and we would love for you to bring your friends and join us! This year's theme is "Amplifying Refugee Voices to Inspire Action."

UUC is a co-sponsoring organization for this event.

On Saturday, February 3, from 1-2 p.m., they'll have traditional Shabbat services with a D’var Torah by Rabbi Borodin, followed by Shabbat learning lead by Congregation Beth Shalom members.

On Sunday, February 4, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., don’t miss our presenters: Wide World of Refugee Voices, International Rescue Committee, and Project Feast.

Experience a captivating blend of poetry, music, spoken word, and compelling storytelling by refugees. Put advocacy into action and make a lasting impact. Nibble on Project Feast snacks and visit opportunity and information tables to put your inspiration to work

We kindly request that you register in advance here: https://www.bethshalomseattle.org/hias-2024.html.
