Through sharing, discussion and reflection, videos and printed resources, and Q&A with church leaders, we'll learn about Unitarian Universalism (UU) and University Unitarian Church (UUC). This informal, introductory course is offered several times a year. This one is scheduled as a two-part class on Saturday, August 12, 9:30 a.m.–12 noon and Sunday, August 13, 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Attend in person or via Zoom.
Morning snacks will be provided on Saturday, and a light brunch will be provided on Sunday. On-site
childcare
will be available each day
if reserved by August 8.
Please
register in advance and plan to attend both sessions. The class includes a mix of reading, video, discussion, reflection, sharing, and Q&A with church leaders. We will consider Unitarian Universalist history and theology, and the specific history of University Unitarian Church. Participants will also meet staff and program leaders involved in some of UUC’s core ministries, such as Social Justice, Care Team, Family Ministry, Stewardship, Music, Sunday Welcoming and the Board of Trustees.
This course fulfills the education requirement to become a member of UUC, and invites (but does not require) participants to join the church whenever they are ready. Stacy Carlson, UUC Member Engagement & Support Assistant, will facilitate, along with invited guests.
