Wednesday Forum: NATO's Future

Wednesday, April 3, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in Knatvold and via Zoom

The next topic in the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions 2024 program is "NATO's Future." The recent addition of Finland and Sweden, Ukraine's interest in membership, and pending legislation about future U.S. aid to Ukraine in the war with Russia heighten the importance of this topic for U.S. foreign and domestic policy. In addition to the chapter in the Great Decisions 2024 booklet, background materials include a Great Decisions video with Jeffrey Morton, Florida Atlantic University. The chapter and video cover the origins of NATO, its growth and role during the Cold War, and current international and domestic issues about its future.

Booklets on Great Decisions 2024 topics are available for $35 from the Foreign Policy Association at https://www.fpa.org/great_decisions/?act=gd_materials. Subsequent 2024 topics are NATO's future, understanding Indonesia, High Seas Treaty, and pandemic preparedness.

All are welcome to join the Wednesday Forum, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in person in the Knatvold Room or via Zoom, on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. If you are not already on the Forum list and would like to be, to receive the Zoom link and regular notices, please contact the UUC office at office@uuchurch.org or (206) 525-8400.
