Wednesday Forum: Understanding Indonesia

Wednesday, April 17, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in Knatvold and via Zoom

The next topic in the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions 2024 program is "Understanding Indonesia." In addition to the chapter in the Great Decisions 2024 booklet, background materials include a Great Decisions video with Jeffrey Morton, Florida Atlantic University. Indonesia's history under Dutch colonialism and Japanese occupation is interesting in its own right. Particularly important in current international relations is Indonesia's attempt to walk a middle ground between American-Australian and Chinese influence.

Booklets on Great Decisions 2024 topics are available for $35 from the Foreign Policy Association at https://www.fpa.org/great_decisions/?act=gd_materials. Subsequent 2024 topics are NATO's future, understanding Indonesia, High Seas Treaty, and pandemic preparedness.

All are welcome to join the Wednesday Forum, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in person in the Knatvold Room or via Zoom, on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. If you are not already on the Forum list and would like to be, to receive the Zoom link and regular notices, please contact the UUC office at office@uuchurch.org or (206) 525-8400.
