Common Power Truth and Purpose Tour

Travel dates: September 12–17, 2024

Apply by April 15

Following on our March 2024 Fleagle Lecture with Professor David Domke and Common Power's Executive Director, Charles Douglas, we have a unique opportunity to create a UUC delegation to join the September 2024 Common Power Truth and Purpose Tour and travel to the American South.

Join Institute for Common Power Director, Dr. Terry Anne Scott, Common Power (CP) senior leader and Professor David Domke, and other CP staff in an investment in CP's foundational principles of mindset, mojo, mobilization with a trip to Atlanta, Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham, Alabama. These are not vacations; they are challenging, growing, intentional deep dives into historical and contemporary realities of race and voting justice, realities that are foundational to the work of Common Power. The goal, always, is to move from education to action.

UUC spots are limited and we are wanting to build a delegation that represents our racial and age diversity as a congregation. We expect that interest in this trip will be high, so please fill out this form soon, even if you are still discerning: Application to Join UUC Delegation. The application includes reflections questions, financial considerations, scholarship opportunities, and travel needs.

Join an online info session with Dr. Terry Scott and Professor Domke on Tuesday, April 2, at 5–6 p.m.:  https://commonpower.zoom.us/j/88287049670.

Acceptance to UUC delegation and scholarships will be communicated by April 20.
